Welcome

Welcome to the Third District of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated. The Third District is comprised of approximately 2,000 members in 42 chapters throughout the District of Columbia and the Commonwealth of Virginia. Our District is truly historic as it is home to the birth chapter of Omega, Alpha Chapter at Howard University in Washington, DC, as well as the oldest graduate chapter in the Fraternity, Lambda Omega, in Norfolk, Virginia.  The Third District is also home to several former Grand Officers, high-ranking military personnel and government officials, community leaders, judges, attorneys, health care professionals, successful entrepreneurs, influential pastors, educators and accomplished athletes.

The Third District and its chapters strive to render the greatest possible positive impact on our respective communities.  Through Omega’s mandated programs such as Talent Hunt, we assist young people with tens of thousands of dollars in scholarship awards. Our Youth Academy Program and Fatherhood Initiative provide mentoring and guidance to our young men who simply need a push in the right direction.  We are also at the forefront of helping to eradicate organic diseases which attack our community with our participation in activities such as the Diabetes Walk-a-Thon and the Relay for Life. The Third District also helps to aggressively combat societal ills through our Stop-the-Violence initiative and mentoring programs which service homeless men.

For our Brothers, please use your website to connect with other Brothers in the District and to keep abreast of all Omega activities in Washington, DC and Virginia. If you are looking to join a chapter in the Third District, then this is the tool which you can use to locate a chapter that fits your commuting and demographic needs. For the communities that we serve, we invite you to visit our website to find the Third District chapter which is located close to you and feel free to contact us to see how we can serve you.

Again, welcome to the Third District, the Birthplace of Omega, where friendship is truly essential to the soul.

Peace and Blessings,

79th Annual 3rd District Meeting

Dear Brothers of the Mighty 3rd District,

On behalf of the myself and the Brothers and Quettes of Gamma Alpha Chapter,  we would like to thank all who attended the 79th Annual Third District Meeting.   We hope you enjoyed your visit to our “Star City”.

Your support of our efforts in making this event a success is reflected in the record attendance of 294 registered Brothers.

Our success was not solely due to the commitment and dedication of the Brothers and Quettes of Gamma Alpha, but also to the Leadership Team of the “Mighty 3rd D”.

I know you will continue in making our Annual Third District Meetings a success by supporting the 2013 Annual Third District Marshal, Brother Stanley McMillan.

Again, thank you and we look forward to seeing all of you in Richmond next year.

Fraternally Yours,

Otis Jordan
